Red Wine

Old Escanaba
$20.00/ 750ml Bottle

Ludington Street Blues
$20.00/ 750ml Bottle

“They we rugged, hard-working men and women- farmers, miners, loggers, fishermen and the women who cleaned, cooked and labored to keep them honest- trying to make a niche in this harsh Northern wilderness. In much the same way our cold climate grapes Frontenac and Marechal Foch struggle through harsh winters, short growing seasons, unpredictable weather and wildlife to survive. Like those early Escanaba folk, our vines survive and produce wine that is crisp earthy and bold, standing up to the rigors of this climate. Old Escanaba represents a quality wine, worthy of the rugged pioneer tradition and fit to meet the expectations of any dry wine aficionado.”

Marechal Foch
$20.00/ 750ml Bottle

“A wonderful French hybrid the cold climate grape that typically produces a light bodied wine of interesting character, this Marechal Foch is dry, full, and carries the subtle notes of oak that our winemaker introduced to complement its fruit. Share with friends over some conversation. Good serve with a meal of roasted meats or pasta in a red sauce. It is delightful.”

NEW RED #1
$20.00/ 750ml Bottle

WINE COMING SOON!
“Ludington Street, old Ludington Street where the good folks gathered each weekend. They drove in from there farm. Their horseless carriages and tin lizzies parked in rows along the street as they walked, shopped, and mostly visited with each other, catching up on the latest gossip, commenting on political matters, and spending time hanging out together. It was a social event for families. It was a quality time. Ludington Street Blues is made with Marquette and Marechal Foch cold climate grapes, spending time together to form this quality wine. We hope it will take you back to moments when life gave us a little more time to hang out together.”

Marquette
$20.00/ 750ml Bottle

“Our vineyards, which supply this Minnesota hybrid great sometimes produce an abundance, and when they do, we are able to make wine like this single variety Marquette. It is a grape that produces a wonderful dry wine when harvested at full ripeness. We age it for some time with oak spirals to give it a little more depth of character. It's dark berry and earthy notes carry through in its remarkable depth of flavor. We hope you will enjoy the fullness of this dry wine.”

Bay de Noc Red
$15.00/ 750ml Bottle

"This wine shows character, depth and sweetness. It features Marquette grapes and represents some of the finest cold climate grape growing and winemaking techniques. Flavors come through sweetness to offer a taste of the wonderful grape as well as notes of the soil and climate that brought it to fullness."

Enjoy casually or with a robust dinner.

Yooper: n; a resident of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

"Since they could survive the cold weather, Concord grapes were commonly grown in the Upper Peninsula. Backyards had Concord vines that would grow wild, providing fruit for jelly and for some adventurous winemakers. But Concord always had a foxy taste and high acid levels which never seemed to  drop even with good weather. So most Yooper winemakers made this wine sweet, very sweet."

Our Yooper Juice features late-picked Concords finished as a sweet rose' wine. You will certainly recognize the Concord grape aroma and flavor as you taste it.

“Our good friend Tom once remarked, 'Dude, you need to make a sweeter wine, really sweet, because there are people out there who like sweet wine and don't want to be bothered with discriminating taste.' So inspired by Tom, we created this neutral white wine that, like Tom himself, brings sweet enjoyment to any party or company. Tom’s Sweet White is a wine which requires no discriminating nose, no special tasting ability, it simply asks you like Tom does to enjoy yourself. So gather friends, open several bottles and if Tom doesn't magically appear to enlighten the party, designate someone to be Tom and start festivities. Enjoy, salute and here's to you, Tom.”

Seasonal Wine

Montemorency Cherry
$12.00/
750ml Bottle

"Montmorency Cherry was picked at Kabat Farms near Traverse City where the owners take great pride in their cherry orchard like our winemaker takes pride in his wine. From the cherries crushed, fermented, pressed, and cared for through destemming to bottling, a wine deep and rich in color, flavor, and sweetness is produced. Montmorency Cherry smells like fresh Cherry pie. It teases your nose and palette before the flavor explodes on your tongue. We think you will enjoy this delightful cherry wine as much as we enjoyed the pleasure of making it for you."

Backyard Apple
$12.00/
750ml Bottle

AVAILABLE SUMMER 2017
"We are pleased to present Backyard Apple Wine made from apples grown in the backyards of the U.P. Whether from friends or relatives the apples come as this year's harvest. Some years are bountiful, some years are limited, but nature's play always influences the production.
Our winemaker chooses the yeast to enhance the flavor if the fruit and bring out the delicate aroma that apples tend to render over time. The flavor of the apples comes out i the middle of the tongue as the wine finishes. Backyard Apple Wine should be served cool and can be enjoyed alone or with a variety of cheeses before or after dinner. We hope you enjoy this wine as a celebration of good friends and of autumn in the Upper Peninsula."

Plums being made into wine?!
You betcha!
You might say we are plum crazy.

In spite of the short growing season, long, bitter winters and little care; in spite of
the birds and the deer we gather these
plums to make them into a wine that is
fragrant, mildly sweet and colorful.

So, taste, enjoy our craziness,

and smile a little bit.

Blackberry
$15.00/ 375ml Bottle

Found along logging roads, in overgrown pastures and deep in the woods,
blackberries are a staple of wildlife and
Yooper diets alike.

Though some prefer blackberries made into jams and cobblers, we like ours
fermented into this semi-sweet reddish-black wine and bottled.

Cheers!
